South Africa - Celebrating Mother Easwaramma Day: Spreading Warmth and Joy at Morning Star Creche

In commemoration of Mother Easwaramma Day on May 6, 2024, the Milnerton Sai Centre embarked on a heartfelt seva project to spread warmth and joy to the children of the Morning Star Creche. The dedicated ladies of the Milnerton Sai Centre lovingly knitted beanies and scarves for the children, ensuring that they would have cozy accessories for the colder months.

The event was meticulously planned to include not only the distribution of these handmade items but also a day of fun and interaction with the children. Volunteers spent a few delightful hours playing with the kids, dressing each child in a beanie, and providing a nourishing lunch consisting of hot dogs and fruits. The children’s excitement and happiness were evident as they received their new beanies and enjoyed the meal.

The impact of this event was profoundly positive. A total of 62 children benefited from the lovingly prepared beanies and the enjoyable activities. The teachers at Morning Star Creche brought the children out to meet the volunteers, creating a joyful atmosphere where each child felt special and cared for.

The success of this event was made possible by the collective efforts of approximately 10 dedicated sevadals and the supportive ladies of the Milnerton Sai Centre who knitted the beanies and sponsored the food items. Their commitment to service and their ability to work together ensured that the entire event was a resounding success.
