In June 2024, the Sai community demonstrated an exemplary spirit of compassion and unity by responding to the urgent needs of those affected by the devastating tornado in Tongaat. This natural disaster had left many homes in ruins, and the need for immediate relief and support was paramount.
A dedicated team of sevadals traveled to Tongaat to assist with the critical task of rebuilding two homes that had been completely destroyed by the tornado. Their efforts were not only a testament to their skills and dedication but also a powerful expression of solidarity with the affected families. The rebuilding process involved extensive work, and the sevadals’ commitment to restoring these homes provided much-needed hope and stability to the residents.
In addition to the hands-on rebuilding efforts, the Pretoria Seva Wing played a crucial role in the disaster relief operations by delivering 1,000 five-liter bottles of water to Tongaat. This vital resource was essential for the survival and well-being of the community members, addressing one of their most immediate needs in the aftermath of the disaster.
